Mr Sean Mortimore is a distinguished consultant ENT and head & neck surgeon based in Derby. With extensive expertise in general ENT, head and neck surgery for both cancerous and benign conditions, as well as transoral robotic and laser surgery, he offers a comprehensive range of treatments. His practice also encompasses general adult ENT, including nasal, throat, and swallowing disorders.
Mr Mortimore obtained his medical degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1987, where he later completed his foundational and specialist ENT training at Groote Schuur Hospital. He further advanced his expertise with additional ENT training in Liverpool before being appointed as a consultant at the Royal Derby Hospital in 1999. Over the years, he has held key leadership roles, including Associate Clinical Sub Dean, Director of Postgraduate Education, and Clinical Director for ENT Surgery, and he has been awarded the title of Honorary Associate Professor.
Beyond his clinical work, Mr Mortimore is dedicated to medical education and actively contributes to the training of undergraduate students, junior doctors, and ENT specialists. He is also engaged in clinical research and serves as a principal investigator for the PATHOS and PATHOS-T trials, focusing on transoral robotic and laser surgery for head and neck cancers.
