Mr Simon Booker is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He provides a comprehensive service for all shoulder and elbow conditions, including arthroscopic and open soft tissue reconstruction, joint replacement, and the management of complex injuries as part of the Sheffield Major Trauma Centre.
Mr Booker graduated from Nottingham Medical School in 2005 and completed his orthopaedic training on the East Midlands rotation. He further honed his specialist skills through advanced Shoulder and Elbow Fellowships in Exeter and Derby. He was appointed Consultant in Sheffield in 2017 and became Clinical Lead for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in 2020.
He is actively engaged in research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributions to book chapters. He regularly presents his work at national and international meetings. Mr Booker is also dedicated to surgical education, supervising senior trainees on the Sheffield Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship and mentoring more junior surgeons. He serves as faculty on courses nationwide, teaching and assessing orthopaedic knowledge and clinical examination skills.
