Mr Timothy Matthews is a leading consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon based in Cardiff, Wales. He specialises in treating conditions and injuries of the shoulder and elbow. Some of his key areas of expertise include minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery of the shoulder and elbow, rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement surgery, joint pain treatment and the use of platelet-rich plasma therapy.
Mr Matthews gained his medical degree from St Bartholomew's Medical College, London, and from here he went on to train in orthopaedics in Bristol, Bath and Swindon. In addition to his speciality training, Mr Matthews also spent a number of years at the University of Oxford conducting postgraduate research. One of his most acclaimed pieces of research was his work done on shoulder tendon disease.
