Dr Wendy Knoops

Dr Wendy Knoops is a leading GP specialist in women’s health and an advanced menopause specialist based in Aberdeen. Her areas of expertise include contraception, the menopause, coils (hormone and copper), hormonal health issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), as well as menstrual, pelvic, and breast health. Dr Knoops consults privately with The Menopause Consortium (TMC) at Alpha Hospital Group.

With over 20 years’ experience, Dr Knoops’ career has been defined by her unwavering commitment to improving women’s healthcare, starting with her early work as a GP before specialising in sexual and reproductive health. Notably, Dr Knoops currently serves as TMC’s clinical lead director for Scotland.

Dr Knoops originally qualified with an MBChB degree from the University of Dundee. She is accredited as a menopause specialist by the British Menopause Society and also holds a Certificate in Ultrasound Imaging for Contraception and Reproductive Healthcare, as well as the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Furthermore, Dr Knoops' memberships also include the National Association for Premenstrual Syndromes and the Primary Care Women's Health Forum.
