In this episode Adam speaks with Dr. Jon Goldin who is a British Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. They discuss about the impact of Covid-19 on children's mental health and how we can have honest, reassuring conversations. Dr. Goldin stresses the need for parents to look after their own mental health as well. Structure, calm and honest conversations that acknowledge the reality of the current situation are key messages. Dr. Goldins areas of expertise are emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and adolescents, including low mood and ADHD. He has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since 2002 as Head of the Mildred Creak Unit. Dr. Goldin is also Specialty Lead in the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (DCAMH) and is Vice Chair of the Child and Adolescent Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
