St Mary’s Hospital is part of Imperial College academic health science centre, established along with other academic health centres to bring together universities and healthcare providers together to focus on research and to ensure that the benefits of medical breakthroughs are passed on to the patients. The hopsital is also home to the private Lindo wing, which offers world-class maternity care with private ensuite rooms. Members of the royal family, including the Duchess of Cambridge, have given birth here.
