Dr Aaron Lovelle

Dr Aaron Lovelle is a consultant adult and adolescent psychiatrist specialising in ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He currently offers exclusively remote ADHD and ASD assessments for adolescents and adults, providing specialist neurodevelopmental assessment online.

Dr Lovelle has particular expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), including complex presentations and cases where ADHD symptoms overlap with autism or other mental health difficulties.

His ADHD assessments consider symptoms including inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, emotional dysregulation, difficulties with organisation, concentration and executive functioning. He also considers how these difficulties affect everyday life, including education, work, relationships, sleep and self-esteem.

Dr Lovelle also has a strong clinical interest in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the overlap between autism and ADHD. His remote ASD assessments take into account an individual's developmental history, current experiences and broader neurodevelopmental presentation, with the aim of providing a thorough and individualised assessment.

Alongside his neurodevelopmental expertise, Dr Lovelle has extensive psychiatric experience and has worked with patients presenting with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related conditions, personality disorders, tics and Tourette syndrome, learning disabilities and psychosis. Dr Lovelle has undertaken additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, completing an MA at the Tavistock Clinic in London, as well as training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). He has also worked within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, supporting patients and families with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
