
Mr Abuchi Okaro
Professional statement
Mr Abuchi Okaro is a consultant general, upper gastrointestinal, and bariatric surgeon based in London and Kent. He specialises in several types of surgeries, utilising both open and laparoscopic techniques, including weight loss and metabolic surgery, hernia surgery, anti-reflux surgery, gallbladder surgery, and achalasia surgery. He is additionally proficient at performing endoscopies and colonoscopies.
Mr Okaro qualified in 1993 from the University of Nigeria. He undertook specialist training in the North-East Thames region and partook in a three-month fellowship in upper GI cancer surgery at the National Cancer Centre in Tokyo, Japan. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1997, and in 2004 he completed a Master’s degree in surgery at the University of London. He was appointed as a consultant in 2006.
