Dr Ahmed Fahim

Dr Ahmid Fahim is a consultant respiratory physician and general medicine specialist in Wolverhampton, with expertise in interstitial lung disease (ILD), chronic cough, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary embolism, bronchiectasis, shortness of breath and pulmonary fibrosis. He privately practises at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital, while his NHS base is the New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton where he leads the specialist ILD service at the Heart and Lung Centre, New Cross Hospital.

Dr Fahim completed his undergraduate education in 2001 and undertook his basic medical training in the West Midlands before higher specialist training in Yorkshire. During this period, he carried out dedicated research into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), earning an MD from the University of Hull in 2012. He's a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and the British Thoracic Society. He served as the steering committee member for ILD specialist advisory group.

His clinical expertise spans the full range of respiratory medicine, while he also has a strong academic background. He has presented his research internationally, and is widely published, having authored review articles and scientific papers in leading peer-reviewed respiratory journals. He has also contributed to multiple clinical trials investigating new treatments for respiratory diseases. He actively participates in research and acts as Principal Investigator for clinical trials.

With over two decades of medical experience, Dr Fahim combines evidence-based care with a personalised approach, ensuring patients receive accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans to optimise respiratory health.
