Dr Ahmed Foly

Dr Ahmed Foly is a consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia in Teesside, North East of England including Middlesborough, Stockton-on-Tees, and Darlington. His areas of expertise include back pain, neck pain, and shoulder, knee and hip pain, alongside facial pain, headache disorders, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, peripheral nerve entrapment, primary pain conditions, neuropathic pain, and persistent post-surgical pain. He practises privately at Ramsay Tees Valley Hospital, Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, Ramsay Cobalt Hospital Newcastle and Woodlands Hospital, while his NHS base is South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

His practice covers the full spectrum of interventional and medical pain management. He has particular expertise in ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopy-guided procedures for spinal, joint, and nerve-related pain, and he treats a broad range of musculoskeletal and neuropathic conditions. His clinical interest also includes complex regional pain syndrome, meralgia paraesthetica, facial pain, and primary pain syndromes, providing patients with structured, individualised plans that focus on improving function and long-term quality of life.

His medical training began at Cairo University, where he graduated with honours, followed by a master’s degree in anaesthesia and pain medicine. He later achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. His memberships include the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
