Dr Amynah Goawalla

Dr Amynah Goawalla is a highly accomplished consultant ophthalmologist based in London, practising at The London Clinic and Cromwell Hospital. She specialises in cataract surgery, as well as oculoplastic (eyelid) surgery, for example:  blepharoplasty, ptosis surgery (droopy eyelid correction) and removal of eyelid lumps and tumours, followed by eyelid reconstruction where needed.

She also helps with the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with suspected neuro-ophthalmic conditions. Renowned for her meticulous approach, she offers a careful assessment and advanced treatments including complex cataract surgery with premium lens implants and a comprehensive range of periocular plastic and reconstructive procedures.

Dr Goawalla studied Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, University of London, qualifying as a medical doctor in 1999, before undertaking specialist training in ophthalmology, primarily at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She further developed her subspecialist expertise through oculoplastic fellowships in Brighton and Cardiff. Alongside her clinical training, she also holds a BSc in immunology and a Master’s degree in Surgical Education from Imperial College London, reflecting her strong commitment to academic and professional development.

Dr Goawalla is a substantive consultant at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where her role includes undertaking and teaching emergency and general ophthalmology and teaching cataract surgery. She brings 26 years of professional experience to her practice, which encompasses the treatment of complex cataracts, eyelid conditions such as ptosis and malpositions, and eyelid lesions, with a focus on delivering tailored, high-quality care to each patient. Her Central London established private practices are located at The London clinic (119 Harley Street) and at the Cromwell hospital (in Kensington)
