Miss Anne Henderson

Miss Anne Henderson is a consultant gynaecologist, British Menopause Society Advanced Specialist and Clinic Director in Kent and London. She has expertise in menopause, perimenopause and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), alongside premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), heavy periods, vulvar disorders and bladder symptoms.  She privately practices at The Amara Clinic, where she is Director, at No. 25 Harley Street, and has a specialist medico-legal practice.

Miss Henderson has become a leading authority in menopause care, with over 35 years of experience. She trained at the University of Cambridge and completed postgraduate medical training in the South East before spending 17 years as a senior NHS consultant. She established one of the largest NHS menopause clinics in the South East and remains dedicated to improving access to high-quality menopause care across the UK.

Miss Henderson integrates both conventional and complementary treatments in her practice. She has worked closely with a medical herbalist for over 20 years, recognising the value of herbal medicine in managing menopause and gynaecological conditions. She also provides expert guidance on HRT, lifestyle medicine and holistic approaches to women’s health.

Beyond clinical practice, Miss Henderson is a sought-after educator and speaker. She has led training sessions for fellow gynaecologists, GPs, and practice nurses and has delivered menopause education seminars for organisations such as the National Police Menopause Action Group and the London Fire Brigade. As medical advisor to BRCA Kent, she provides education and support to patients and healthcare professionals on hereditary cancer risks.

Her medico-legal expertise stems from her role as NHS consultant lead for Obstetric Risk. She regularly lectures to legal professionals and contributes to training events such as the 7 Bedford Row Chambers annual “Skeleton Series.”

Miss Henderson is widely published in both medical and mainstream media, including peer-reviewed journals and national newspapers. She has made numerous media appearances discussing menopause-related issues and has acted as a medical advisor for health and wellness brands. In 2021, she authored Natural Menopause, a comprehensive guide offering evidence-based advice on managing menopause through both medical and holistic approaches
