Mr Anthony MacQuillan is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Bath, Bristol and central London who specialises in facelift, blepharoplasty and breast augmentation, alongside breast reduction, mastopexy, abdominoplasty, brachial plexus injury repair, and peripheral nerve injury treatment. He privately practises at The Northwood Hospital and The Wellington Hospital (part of HCA Healthcare UK). He previously served 10 years as an NHS consultant at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Mr MacQuillan holds the FRCS (Plast) qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons. He maintains active memberships with several professional organisations, including the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), where he serves as vice president, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr MacQuillan is committed to advancing the field through research and education. He has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and completed a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of London in 2007, with a thesis on free functional muscle transfer. He also serves as a lecturer on facial rejuvenation surgery and trains fellow surgeons. His innovative approach includes facial nerve monitoring during facelift procedures to minimise surgical risks and ensure precision.
Before devoting himself exclusively to aesthetic surgery 10 years ago, Mr MacQuillan ran a specialist free functional muscle transfer service to restore limb muscle function following severe nerve injury. This extensive reconstructive background informs his current aesthetic practice, bringing a profound knowledge base and technical expertise to all procedures. He continues to maintain involvement in complex reconstructive cases alongside his private aesthetic work.
For patients considering treatment, Mr MacQuillan offers consultations across his three locations. All procedures are performed with careful attention to safety standards, using evidence-based techniques and modern surgical approaches designed to achieve natural, harmonious results. Patients can expect thorough pre-operative assessments and personalised care plans throughout their surgical journey.
