Mr Chris Macklin

Mr Chris Macklin is a consultant colorectal surgeon based in Leeds, specialising in haemorrhoid surgery, anal fistula and anal fissures, alongside piles (haemorrhoids), endoscopy and bowel cancer. He privately practices at eXroid in Leeds and his NHS base is Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.

He graduated with a BM BS from the University of Nottingham in 1992, and went on to complete extensive training in Yorkshire, developing his expertise in colorectal surgery. He holds both FRCS and FRCS (Gen Surg) qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons and has also earned a Doctorate of Medicine (DM).

Since 2006, he has been a consultant at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust specialising in colorectal cancer surgery, bowel cancer diagnostics including colonoscopy, and proctology for conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and fistulas.

Mr Macklin has performed thousands of surgeries, including hundreds of bowel resections for cancer and thousands of upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies. His published bowel cancer resection mortality rate is lower than the national average and the lowest within his trust, reflecting his dedication to achieving excellent surgical outcomes.

In addition, Mr Macklin has carried out over 250 eXroid haemorrhoid treatments without complications. He is highly skilled in offering this minimally invasive and clinic-based treatment, which provides an effective, safe, and anaesthesia-free option for patients with haemorrhoids.
