Dr Christopher Barringer

Dr Christopher Barringer is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia whose practice focuses on the assessment and treatment of chronic and complex pain. He has expertise in interventional pain medicine, using targeted procedures to help manage persistent symptoms.

His work includes ultrasound-guided and X-ray-guided interventions, allowing procedures to be performed with a high degree of precision. Treatments include radiofrequency ablation, cooled radiofrequency and pulsed radiofrequency for a range of painful conditions.

Neuromodulation also forms an important part of Dr Barringer’s clinical work. He offers spinal cord stimulation for persistent nerve pain and provides restorative multifidus stimulation with Reactiv8 for chronic low back pain associated with dysfunction of the deep stabilising muscles of the spine.

He sees patients with a wide variety of pain conditions, including spinal, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neuropathic and abdominal and pelvic pain. His approach is centred on careful assessment and individually selected treatment, particularly for patients whose symptoms have continued despite previous therapies.

Dr Barringer practises privately at Nuffield Health The Holly Hospital. He is also Lead Consultant for Chronic Pain Medicine at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, where he serves as a Faculty Tutor and contributes to the development of future specialists.
