  • 2021-22: Case Series Review of resistant Candida Glabrata – management options and challenges. This work has just finished, and been written up for publication and to inform local protocols.
  • 2018-2020: HIV Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP Impact Trial): Oxford is a study site for the national trial which aims to help NHS England and Local Authorities understand the national and local demand and need for this medication. In 2018 I was the Primary Investigator for this study, leading a team of research and clinical staff in recruiting and managing patients on the trial.
  • 2019: Gonorrhea (GC) trial: laboratory feasibility study - evaluating the use of DNA sequencing to diagnose GC infections and antibiotic resistance. I assisted the Chief Investigator, a clinician scientist from another department, in the design of our local protocol, patient information leaflets and posters. I also arranged for our ST5 trainees to lead study recruitment (with supervision).
  • 2017: Member of writing group for update of the BHIVA ‘UK national guidelines for HIV testing 2008’. I was asked to contribute following the international work I have done on HIV testing recommendations in non-HIV specialist guidelines.
  • 2017: Detecting asymptomatic Trichomonas vaginalis in females using the BD ProbeTecTM Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) Qx Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAATs). I led this project. The results were published and led to a new local screening protocol.
