Mr Fraz Ansari

Mr Fraz Ansari is an experienced consultant surgeon with an interest in colorectal surgery in Glasgow.  He specialises in haemorrhoids, non-invasive surgery and proctoscopy, alongside anal fistulas, anal fissures and haemorrhoids. His expertise also extends to gallstone surgery and hernia repair. He privately practises at eXroid and his NHS base is NHS Lanarkshire.

Mr Ansari began his medical career at King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, where he earned his MBBS in 1996. He later became a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan (FCPS) before advancing his career in the UK. He completed his FRCSI in General Surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and went on to be awarded a Diploma in Minimally Invasive Surgery (Advanced Laparoscopy) from the University of Strasbourg in 2011. His fellowship experience also includes a focus on peritoneal malignancy and HIPEC.

Mr Ansari’s clinical practice encompasses a wide range of procedures, including:

• Proctology: Haemorrhoid surgery, anal fistulas, anal fissures and haemorrhoids.
• Non-invasive surgery: Advanced minimally invasive techniques for a range of colorectal and general surgical conditions.

He has developed significant experience in managing both emergency and elective surgical cases and is committed to providing patient-centred care.

Mr Ansari is involved in medical education and surgical training, and shares his knowledge and expertise with junior doctors and surgical trainees. Furthermore, his research interests have led to numerous presentations and publications on topics in general and colorectal surgery.
