Dr Gayathri Perera is a highly-reputable London consultant dermatologist who has her NHS service at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and her private practice in Kensington and Brentford. In addition to general adult and paediatric dermatology she also has a special interest in medical dermatology including inflammatory skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, rosacea to name a few. She also manages patients with skin cancer, lupus and other autoimmune skin diseases. Dr Perera undertook her medical training at the University of Oxford where she gained her MA in physiological sciences and medical degrees in medicine and surgery.
Dr Perera trained in Dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London in 2002-2012. She undertook an MRC-funded period of research into the immunodermatology of psoriasis and was award her PhD by Kings College London in 2013. Dr Perera is the Specialty Group Lead for the NW London NIHR/Comprehensive Local Research Network. She is engaged in clinical research trials and is a recognised key opinion leader in psoriasis. She lectures at both local, national and international clinical and academic meetings. She continues to publish in peer-reviewed clinical and scientific journals.
Dr Perera is an active member of a number of dermatology associations including the British Association of Dermatologists.
