Dr Hana Patel is a senior, versatile and experienced general practitioner in family medicine, a medicolegal witness and mental specialist in the Southeast London area. She specialises in well-man and well-woman mental health checks, and practises as a mental health coach, offering qualified and regulated coaching supervision. Dr Hana Patel is recognised as an established Expert Medicolegal Witness since 2008, and is MedCo-accredited. In her Expert Medicolegal Witness role, Dr Hana Patel has given her opinion and clinical advice to various institutions, including¡: NHS England, CQC, statutory public inquiries, the General Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Council, and regulatory bodies such as the police, PHSO, coroner's court, criminal, civil and immigration cases.
Dr Hana Patel received her medical degree from University College London Medical School in 2005, and continued to further her medical qualifications through rigorous trainings and postgraduate qualifications. These include, but are not limited to, specialised diplomas in leadership and management, postgraduate qualifications in family planning, women's health, elderly medicine, medical examiner training, Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA) in England and Wales, and a Master's degree in medical education and strategic leadership. Dr Patel has trained with institutions such as King's College London, University of London, and University of Kent, and holds an Honorary Lecturer role at the University of Kent and Digital and Lifelong Learning. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP), a prestigious post-nominal title awarded to medical doctors in the UK who specialise in general practice and have been recognised for their significant contributions to the field, community healthcare, or medical science.
Currently, Dr Patel practises as a coach and general practitioner, specialising in mental health care for UHNWI and as an Expert Medicolegal Witness. With a passion for education and training, she aids fellow qualified doctors, future doctors, and her patients using her unique holistic approach, which is individualised per client and session. Dr Patel holds roles such as an academic mentor for Health Education England, a General Medical Council examiner, carrying out coaching and mentoring for primary care within the NHS teachings and training around the country, lecturing both in the UK and internationally. Dr Patel has presentations and research in published works, and she is internationally recognised. She is, at present, a section editor for the RCGP medical journal for GP trainees all around the world, and she has been published in medical journals and national and international press outlets.
