Dr Iftikhar Nadeem is a consultant respiratory physician with practices in both Sawbridgeworth and Peterborough. He specialises in treating a range of lung and respiratory conditions, particularly chronic cough, asthma, lung cancer, chest infections, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sleep apnoea, pneumonia and interstitial lung disease/pulmonary fibrosis.
He is highly experienced in respiratory diagnostic procedures, such as bronchoscopy, pleural aspiration and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
Dr Nadeem qualified in 2012 from the Punjab Medical College in Pakistan and was made a fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan before taking up a post as a resident doctor in the Republic of Ireland. He moved to the UK in 2019, where he undertook higher specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine across the East of England.
Dr Nadeem is the clinical audit lead for the Respiratory Department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and also lead the Interstitial Lung Disease service. Additionally, he is an honorary respiratory and ILD consultant at the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Outside of his clinical practice, he is an active researcher and academic, having authored several peer-reviewed publications and contributions to book chapters regarding respiratory conditions and interstitial lung diseases.
