Mr Jakub Kozdryk is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon in Coventry. He specialises in a wide range of hip and knee surgical procedures, including replacement surgery (with robot-assisted technology), total arthroplasty, revisionary replacements, and hip resurfacing.
Mr Kozdryk qualified from the Medical University of Gdańsk in 2006 and then came to the UK to undertake eight years of higher trauma and orthopaedic surgical training in Birmingham. In 2018, he passed the FRCS exam in trauma and orthopaedics, and was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, as well as receiving the Certificate of Completion of Training. He then pursued three post-CCT fellowships, which consisted of a hip arthroplasty fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, and both a trauma fellowship and a specialist hip and knee revision arthroplasty fellowship at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. These fellowships honed his skills in lower limb reconstruction, complex revision arthroplasty, and the treatment of periprosthetic joint infections. Mr Kozdryk has extensive experience with using new orthopaedic technologies and is certified to employ both MAKO and ROSA robotic assistance in surgery, as well as Optimised Positioning System technology for precise alignment and long-term stability.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Kozdryk participates in medical education and training as an educational and clinical supervisor for core surgical and higher trauma & orthopaedic trainees. He is a core member of the Bone Infection Group for Coventry and Warwickshire, as well as the Regional Complex Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Multidisciplinary Team, where he participates in discussions about challenging cases and complications with his fellow specialists. Additionally, he is a Webmaster and executive member of the Bone and Joint Infection Society. As a researcher, he has presented at various national and international conferences and has published contributions in peer-reviewed journals.
