Professor Justin Cobb is one of the UK's leading consultant orthopaedic surgeons, specialising in a range of surgical procedures on the knee and hip, including knee arthroscopy and replacement. He is renowned for his pioneering work with computer-assisted and robotic surgical innovations.
Professor Cobb graduated with a medical degree from Magdalen College, Oxford in 1982. After undergoing further training, including a research year at the London Bone Tumour Unit, he became a consultant surgeon in 1991. Across his esteemed career, he has held senior surgical positions at The Middlesex Hospital, University College London Hospital and King Edward VII Hospital for Officers.
Since 2005, Professor Cobb has been chair of orthopaedics and head of elective surgery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a leader in education for trainee surgeons and is at the forefront of implementing state-of-the-art technology and surgical techniques, such as precise 3D positioning to optimise hip and knee replacement function. Professor Cobb is also a professor of orthopaedic surgery at Imperial College London, civilian advisor in orthopaedics to the Royal Air Force and has served as orthopaedic surgeon to Her Majesty the Queen since 2009.
