Ms Linda Ferrari
Professional statement
Ms Linda Ferrari is a highly established consultant colorectal, pelvic floor, and emergency general surgeon with specialist interests in proctology, pelvic floor pathology, hidradenitis suppurativa, and inflammatory bowel disease. She completed her surgical training in Italy, followed by colorectal fellowships at St Mark’s Hospital and the University of Washington Medical Center.
Ms Ferrari is an active committee member of the pelvic floor consortium section of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons, where she has contributed to international guidelines on the management of pelvic floor disorders. She is also a member of the International Continence Society.
Ms Ferrari’s research interests include perianal fistula, for which she completed a PhD thesis on imaging and treatment outcomes. She has also contributed to research in pelvic floor disorders, pelvic floor imaging, inflammatory bowel disease, and patient-reported outcomes in colorectal care. Her current research projects focus on addressing inequalities in healthcare. She continues to publish in peer-reviewed journals, with over 40 articles and more than 10 book chapters to her name. Linda also regularly teaches on national and international platforms.
