Dr Malcolm Persey is a distinguished consultant rheumatologist based in London. His areas of expertise include carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, osteoporosis, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis. He also performs X-rays, MRI scans, bone density scans, and nerve conduction studies.
Dr Persey consults privately at Chase Lodge Hospital. With over 37 years’ experience, he also practises for Chase Farm Hospital and Barnet Hospital within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Persey’s practice also includes medicolegal work, where he is listed in the UK Register of Expert Witnesses.
Dr Persey qualified from Oxford University and the Royal Free Hospital. He trained in general medicine and rheumatology at leading hospitals, including placements at St Mary’s, Central Middlesex, and Northwick Park, and completed research on amyloidosis at The Hammersmith Hospital, which led to an MD from the University of London in 1997.
In addition, Dr Persey is closely involved in medical education. He trains medical students and junior doctors, often hosting trainees in his clinics. He also holds esteemed fellowship to the Royal College of Physicians, and is a member of the British Society for Rheumatology.
