Mr Mark Tyrrell

Mr Mark Tyrrell is a highly experienced vascular surgeon with over 37 years in clinical practice, of which more than 25 years have been at the consultant level, focusing on vascular and endovascular surgery. He has developed significant expertise in the management of aortic pathologies, utilising advanced technologies to treat a wide range of vascular conditions. In addition to his specialised interest in aortic disease, Mr Tyrrell is skilled in the treatment of carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, varicose veins, and stroke prevention. He is also proficient in performing minimally invasive surgeries such as endovenous thermal ablation and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).

As the lead for aortic surgery at St. Thomas' Hospital, Mr Tyrrell enjoys working collaboratively with his team to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex vascular conditions. His experience includes performing various vascular procedures, including carotid endarterectomy, peripheral artery bypass surgery, and thoracic aortic surgery. He also offers advanced interventions like transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Mr Tyrrell has a strong background in treating diabetic foot ulcers, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and other neurovascular disorders, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
