Dr Naeema Ginwala-Hasan

Dr Naeema Ginwala-Hasan is a leading consultant interventional cardiologist based in London. Her areas of expertise include ischaemic heart disease (angina and heart attack), blood pressure and cholesterol management, and aortic valve disease. She is also highly proficient in coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty, as well as right heart catheterisation and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

Dr Ginwala-Hasan consults privately at One Heart Clinic. With over 15 years’ experience, she also practises for London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust, where she is the only female interventional cardiologist. Dr Ginwala-Hasan is highly regarded for her clear communication, welcoming bedside manner, and keen clinical eye.

Dr Ginwala-Hasan, who is originally from the USA, earned her MD from the State University of New York at Syracuse. She completed her internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York and successfully passed the American Board of Internal Medicine exams before relocating to London, where she undertook higher specialist cardiology training at Harefield Hospital and the Imperial College system.

Additionally, Dr Ginwala-Hasan is accredited in cardiac CT and also holds the esteemed MRCP of the Royal College of Physicians. During her training, Dr Ginwala-Hasan received the prestigious Doris Duke Clinical Research Foundation fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, along with a research fellowship at Cambridge University and Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Dr Ginwala-Hasan is also an active researcher and holds the role of research associate at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where she has been a principal investigator on major studies. Her extensive contributions include publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at national and international conferences across the United States and Europe, and contributing to textbook chapters.
