Dr Sajitha Sachchithanantham

Dr Sajitha Sachchithanantham is a consultant haematologist with a specialist NHS practice at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and Cleveland Clinic London Hospital. Her expertise lies in haemato-oncology, with a particular focus on plasma cell disorders and amyloidosis.

Dr Sachchithanantham earned her medical degree with distinction in clinical practice from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London, in 2005. She also holds a BSc Honours in Medical Sciences with Management from Imperial College London. Her training in Haematology through the South East London rotation equipped her with broad experience in clinical and laboratory haematology, including blood transfusion, haemostasis, and thrombosis.

She completed an MD thesis in AL amyloidosis at the National Amyloidosis Centre, University College London. She subsequently served as Senior Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Consultant in Haematology and Amyloidosis at the National Amyloidosis Centre and Royal Free Hospital. Her responsibilities included providing a national advisory service on amyloidosis, general and consultative haematology, and specialist care for plasma cell disorders at University College London Hospital.

In December 2020, Dr Sachchithanantham joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. An accomplished researcher and educator, she has published in leading medical journals, actively contributes to clinical trials, and is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
