Dr Sevag Ouzounian is a distinguished consultant psychiatrist in central London who specialises in ADHD, depression and anxiety, alongside schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychosis and women's mental health. He privately practises at Psychiatry on Harley Street and his NHS base is West London NHS Trust where he is a consultant forensic psychiatrist.
Dr Ouzounian prides himself in his strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach, focusing on the intersection between neurodevelopmental conditions and factors such as trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and social stressors.
His clinical practice is holistic and trauma-focused, prioritising the whole person; history, environment, and unique strengths, rather than focusing narrowly on symptom management. This is particularly relevant to his specialisms in women’s mental health and his extensive experience across intellectual disability, neuropsychiatry, and forensic neurodevelopmental cases. Dr Ouzounian is dedicated to creating a calm, respectful, and validating environment, specifically catering to those who may have previously struggled to have their complex needs recognised within traditional clinical settings.
Dr Ouzounian achieved his MBBS from The University of Hull and the University of York in 2014, followed by postgraduate training in North West London and higher training in the South London scheme, culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Forensic Psychiatry.
He holds accredited specialist training in UKAAN ADHD assessment and pharmacological treatment, as well as the National Autism Training Programme for Psychiatrists and ADI-R training, ensuring he is at the forefront of modern neurodevelopmental care.
Dr Ouzounian is a training programme director for core psychiatry trainees, where he oversees the curriculum and professional development of the next generation of resident psychiatrists. This role highlights his leadership in clinical excellence and his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of psychiatric education.
