Professor Simon Woldman is a renowned consultant cardiologist in London, with expertise in managing heart failure, specifically in patients who have not responded to conventional therapy. He employs cutting-edge technology and techniques, striving to provide the best possible care for each of his patients. Although he treats a wide variety of heart conditions, he also has a special interest in chest pain, breathlessness, and palpitations, among others. He currently practises at the Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre in London.
Professor Woldman earned his medical degree from Glasgow University in 1989, receiving both the Andrew J. Hutton Medal and Prize in Surgery and the Asher Asher Memorial Medal and Prize in Otolaryngology. He completed the majority of his training in the West of Scotland and was appointed to his first consultant position at Ayr Hospital in 2001. The following year, he obtained an MD from the University of Glasgow before joining the UCL Hospitals NHS Trust as a consultant cardiologist.
In 2015, the cardiology department at UCLH merged with those at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the London Chest Hospital to create Barts Heart Centre, where Professor Woldman was appointed director in 2019. He also serves as chair of the North London Cardiac Operational Delivery Network, supporting NHS hospitals in providing cardiac care across North London.
