Dr Teng-Teng Chung is a highly experienced Consultant Endocrinologist based at London Lauriston Clinic. She has specialist expertise in thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary disease, calcium metabolism disorders, amenorrhoea and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Dr Chung graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney and completed her specialist training at the renowned Endocrine Unit at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. In 2007, she was awarded a prestigious Medical Research Council (MRC) Clinical Fellowship, leading to a PhD in Adrenal Molecular Endocrinology at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
She went on to hold an NIHR Clinical Lectureship at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010, pursuing research focused on adrenal disease. Dr Chung continues to contribute extensively to the scientific literature, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and academic textbooks.
Her active research and clinical trial portfolio include serving as Principal Investigator for Phase 2 and 3 studies in Graves’ disease and thyroid eye disease, as well as Co-Investigator for Phase 2 trials exploring primary aldosteronism, including advances in functional imaging and ablation therapy.
At University College London Hospital (UCLH), Dr Chung leads the Adult Thyroid Service, providing multidisciplinary and patient-centred care across conditions such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and antenatal thyroid disorders. She also heads the Adrenal Service and is MDT Lead, with particular interest in endocrine-related hypertension, including primary aldosteronism, phaeochromocytoma, and adrenal cancer. Her broader clinical expertise spans pituitary tumours, parathyroid disease, and calcium disorders.
