Mr William Moore is a consultant paediatric ophthalmologist in central London, who specialises in cataract surgery, developmental eye abnormalities and allergic eye disease, alongside cornea problems, squint (strabismus), amblyopia (lazy eye), conjunctivitis and dry eye. He privately practises at The Portland Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, while his NHS base is Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. With over 32 years of clinical experience, Mr Moore has particular expertise in anterior segment disorders and paediatric cataract surgery, as well as the assessment and treatment of complex visual and ocular developmental conditions in infants and children.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Moore is actively involved in teaching and training. He serves as a fellowship teacher and trainer at Great Ormond Street Hospital and supervises the ophthalmology research clinic, supporting clinical research and advancing knowledge in paediatric ophthalmology. He regularly lectures both in the UK and internationally and contributes to specialist education programmes, including as a lecturer at the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology in Lugano, Switzerland. He also participates in the International Congenital Corneal Opacification Workshop, reflecting his commitment to advancing the understanding and treatment of rare and complex congenital eye conditions.
Mr Moore’s clinical interests extend to paediatric neuro-ophthalmology, including the care of children with neurological conditions, craniofacial abnormalities and systemic disorders affecting vision.
