Dr Abhijit Das

Dr Abhijit Das is an accomplished consultant neurologist based in Lancashire. He practises at Fishergate Hill Surgery and serves as the clinical lead for the Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Service across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Renowned for his patient-focused approach, Dr Das provides tailored and compassionate care to individuals with a wide array of neurological conditions.

With over 20 years in neurology, Dr Das has earned a reputation for excellence among both patients and colleagues. He combines his extensive clinical knowledge with a strong commitment to innovation, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest, most effective treatments available.

Dr Das completed his neurology training at SCTIMST in Trivandrum, India, in 2009. Pursuing advanced neurological care, he trained at the Kessler Foundation Research Center/Rutgers University in the United States, as part of a specialized rehabilitation research program funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).

His international experience and collaborations have positioned him as a leader in creating cost-effective, practical medical devices and leveraging artificial intelligence to advance neurological care.

Additionally, Dr Das holds an honorary associate professorship at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). He actively contributes to key national advisory groups, including the Functional Neurological Disorder and Neuropsychiatry Advisory Group for the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) and the Scientific Subcommittee for the British and Irish Association of Stroke Physicians (BIASP). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh.
