Dr Aditi Desai is a distinguished dental surgeon and expert in dental sleep medicine based in London, specialising in the management of sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), snoring, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), and sleep bruxism. She is the President of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine (BSDSM) and the British Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (BADSM), reflecting her leadership in advancing dental sleep medicine in the UK.
Aditi served as President of the Odontology Section at Royal Society of Medicine, in Wimpole Street, London. Dr Desai graduated with distinction from the University of Wales in 1977 and later earned a Master of Science in Conservative Dentistry from University College London.
Her career spans over four decades, including 13 years as an in-house dentist for the BBC in Broadcasting House. She was granted Fellowship of College of General Dentistry for her distinguished service to Dentistry over the years. Since 2009, she has focused exclusively on dental sleep medicine, practicing at locations such as London Bridge Hospital at HCA at The Shard, and Royal Brompton Hospital, Specialist Care Centre in Wimpole Street.
She is deeply involved in multidisciplinary care, collaborating with Respiratory Physicians, ENT consultants, Neurologists, Nutritionists, Myofunctional Therapists and psychologists to provide comprehensive treatment for patients with sleep disorders. Dr Desai also advocates for education and awareness about dental sleep medicine, teaching nationally and internationally to promote better understanding and management of these conditions.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Desai serves on several prestigious boards and councils, including the Executive Board of British Sleep Society (BSS), Odontology and Sleep Medicine Council of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) as well as the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP). She played a pivotal role in merging BSDSM with the British Sleep Society and British Paediatric Sleep Society (BPSS) to enhance collaboration between medical and dental professionals.

- Dr Desai listened carefully to my problems and her examination was very thorough. She makes me feel confident that my sleep apnoea can be managed effectively. The MAD is precision-made for my mouth and is suiting me well. Aftercare is excellent 👌 I am already sleeping better.
