Mr Ahmed Abdelmaksoud

Mr Ahmed Abdelmaksoud is a consultant ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon at Spire Hull and East Riding and Lancashire Eye Clinic Lytham. His expertise covers various aspects, including dry eye management, refractive surgery, laser eye surgery, multifocal contact lenses, keratoconus, and corneal cross-linking.

Mr Abdelmaksoud holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Alexandria University. He furthered his training with fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the International Council of Ophthalmology. Additionally, he earned a Master's degree in Medical Education from the University of Manchester, where he took a special interest in simulation in surgical training.

In addition to his private pratices, Mr Abdelmaksoud also has extensive experience in the public sector. He currently holds the position of consultant ophthalmologist in the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He has previously held positions at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Acknowledging his contributions to the field, Mr Abdelmaksoud received the BEECS First Prize from the Yorkshire & Humber Deanery.
