Mr Amit Kotecha is a highly esteemed consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee problems. He is a leading expert in hipandknee replacement surgery, robotic surgery, personalised joint replacement and revision hip replacement surgery. He is also highly experienced in partial knee replacement and the management of both kneepain and hip pain.
Mr Kotecha practices at the Spire Little Aston Hospital and the Spire Parkway Hospital. He uses modern operative techniques and enhanced recovery protocols to reduce pain, aid swift recovery and excellent outcomes for his patients. Aside from his role as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Kotecha regularly teaches on musculoskeletal courses for GPs and trainee surgeons.
Notably, Mr Kotecha has collected a vast number of different prizes throughout his medical career. He also regularly lectures at national and international meetings. He is keen on teaching. Mr Kotecha is an honorary associate clinical professor at the University of Birmingham and was an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Leicester prior to this.

- After having two hip replacements performed by Mr Kotecha I would like to say he made the whole experience much easier than I expected. He was very caring, professional and totally put me at ease. He has totally changed my life, from chronic pain to no pain. I can now enjoy a full pain free life, and enjoy full mobility. Thank you so much Mr Kotecha.
- I recently had a knee replacement performed by Dr Kotecha who I can’t speak highly enough before my surgery he came and visited me making me really at ease after the surgery he came to my ward and told me me how damaged my knee was and explained what he had done and how pleased he was with the way everything had gone and how the physio team would look after me also he booked me in for a appointment six weeks post operation which I have now attended at which he was very pleased with the progress
- Mr Kotecha performed a total right hip replacement on me on April 9th 2026. The treatment I received from the surgeon and the hospital staff was excellent, both before and after the procedure, after discharge I have made very good progress with my recovery, the post op pain wasn't too bad, and very soon that stopped and it was then a case of doing the physio as directed every day without fail if possible. I am now 7 wks post op and walking and feeling very well. I would 100% recommend.
- Pre and post op appointments were informative and supportive.Mr Kotecha was very happy to explain all aspects of the procedure. On the day of the op he met with me and I felt in very safe and confident hands. I received excellent care at Spire by all staff. Mr Kotecha personally checked with me post operatively on the ward. I am 9 weeks post op and pain free. I would definitely recommend Mr Kotecha.
