Dr Anil Kumar Taneja is a renowned consultant cardiologist with years of experience in the field of cardiology and internal medicine. He is the only cardiology consultant in the UK to have undergone training in four specialities and with accreditation in all four on the specialist register.
His cardiological interests include all aspects of cardiology care and diseases, such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, arrhythmia, coronary heart disease, syncope, dizziness, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. He practises at a host of hospitals in London, including The Spire London East and Spire Thames Valley Private Hospitals, the Clementine Churchill Hospital (Circle Group) in Harrow and his main practice is at Nuffield, The Holly Private Hospital in East London. He also works with NHS hospitals (Barts NHS Trust – Whipps Cross University Hospital). Soon, his services will be available at Spire Bushey and Spire Reading/Dunedin.
Dr Taneja completed his basic training in medicine from Oxfordshire deanery in 1999, before going on to complete an MRCP in both the UK and Ireland. Following this, Dr Taneja would go on to successfully complete an MSc in cardiology from Imperial College London with a distinction in cardiology, followed by an MD from Royal Brompton Hospital/NHLI- Imperial. Notably, he was a nominated fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and as well of Edinburgh before being appointed the regional speciality advisor for cardiology for the Oxford region by RCP and the British Cardiac Society. To date, Dr Taneja has presented on a considerable amount of occasions at both national and international cardiology society meetings (British, American and European). He has published articles in various peer-reviewed journals and has written plenty of book chapters relating to acute coronary syndrome. Listed in top ten investigators award at European society of cardiologists for his abstract/ presentation. Impressively, Dr Taneja obtained full accreditation in echocardiography both from the British Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
Dr Taneja also completed level 2 cardiac CT training and is an accredited member of the British Society of Cardiac Imaging and the Society of Cardiac CT in the USA.
He currently leads the clinical governance group for the cardiology department at Whipps Cross Hospital. He also is a member of the FRCP grading committee for RCP London and a MRCP paces Examiner.
