Mr Aroon Baskaradas
Professional statement
Mr Aroon Baskaradas is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with specialist expertise in hip and knee surgery, including arthroscopic meniscectomy.
He privately practises at Chase Lodge Hospital, Clementine Churchill in North West London, as well as his NHS base at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, where he also serves as a clinical and educational supervisor.
He has nearly two decades of experience and regularly treats patients with a wide range of lower limb conditions, combining both surgical and non-surgical approaches to achieve the best outcomes.
Mr Baskaradas completed his medical degree at the University of London in 2006 and went on to complete two fellowships in hip and knee surgery. He takes a patient-centred approach to care, ensuring every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, whether that involves joint replacement, keyhole surgery or conservative management. He is known for his approachable manner and is committed to fully informing his patients about their options without pressure or unnecessary intervention.
Mr Baskaradas is experienced in both traditional and robotic-assisted joint replacement techniques and tailors each procedure to the individual’s anatomy and lifestyle.
“My philosophy is simple — to care for every patient with the same standard and compassion I would want for my own family. I believe that recovery is a partnership: together, we’ll decide the best path to help you return to the activities you love with confidence and comfort.”
Alongside his clinical role, Mr Baskaradas is actively involved in medical education. He lectures in orthopaedics at Brunel Medical School and is a strong advocate for training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. His interest in education extends beyond clinical practice.
His diverse professional experience allows him to bring a unique, holistic perspective to both his clinical and non-clinical work, always with a focus on improving patient care and outcomes.
He welcomes patients of all ages and backgrounds — from elderly individuals and active professionals to busy parents and athletes recovering from injury. As someone who has seen the impact of pain on everyday life, he understands how important it is to restore mobility, independence and quality of life. He speaks English and Tamil and is proud to serve London’s diverse communities.
Mr Baskaradas is recognised by major UK private insurers including Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva, Allianz, Vitality and WPA.
