Dr Mahto, who is part of the London International Patient Services group (LIPS), currently sees patients at Eight Moorgate Clinic and The London Clinic.
Dr Mahto is dual-certified in rheumatology and general internal medicine. Having originally qualified from Cardiff University with distinction, she completed her specialist training across premier hospitals in North and East London. Dr Mahto later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010 before going on to obtain a PhD from Barts and Queen Mary University of London in 2019 in the field of rheumatoid arthritis. Her final investigation analysed the role of B-cells within the synovium membrane and treatment stratification approaches with rituximab therapy.
Following her training and medical education, Dr Mahto was appointed consultant rheumatologist at King’s College Hospital, where she was also the adolescent rheumatology lead. She had previously been involved in long COVID treatment clinics at the hospital. Working cross-departmental, Dr Mahto also directed a fibromyalgia program at Whipps Cross Hospital in partnership with physiotherapy, psychology, and pain specialists. Further to her clinical work, Dr Mahto is also dedicated to research, and has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, and presented her work both nationally and internationally. She is passionate about creating an individualised appproach for each patient and has a strong interest in women's health and wellbeing.
Dr Mahto offers the option of having an ultrasound +/- an injection, meaning that an inflammatory arthritis diagnosis can be given and confirmed on the same day. As well as this, she also offers injections for soft tissue complaints, such as trigger finger, within the same consultation (this does not include hips or shoulders).
