Mr Azar Khunda
Professional statement
Mr Azar Khunda is a leading London consultant Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist, practising privately at HCA The Shard, BMI London Independent Hospital, London bridge Hopital and 132 Harley Street. He has a wide range of expertise in general gynaecology. His areas of expertise include pelvic organ prolapse, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, painful bladder syndrome, urinary tract infections, post-partum pelvic floor dysfunction, and vaginal hysterectomy. Mr Khunda has been a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospitals since August 2014.
Mr Khunda obtained a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in April 2010. In 2011, Mr Khunda completed a short-term fellowship in Australia with Professor Hans Peter Dietz, which complemented his general training in urogynaecology and introduced him to the application of imaging in urogynaecology.
In 2013, he completed the subspecialty training programme in urogynaecology at University College London Hospital. This post provided him with the experience of advanced laparoscopic surgery and its application in urogynaecology. He began working as a locum consultant urogynaecologist at St George’s hospital in January 2013 which allowed him to successfully and safely introduce laparoscopic urogynaecology there.
Before taking part in his subspecialty training programme, Mr Khunda gained experience in benign vaginal surgery ATSM, urogynaecology ATSM, and advanced labour ward practice. He also completed a one-year fellowship at St George’s Hospital, during which he consolidated his diagnostic and surgical skills at tertiary level.
