
Mr Babar Vaqas

Mr Babar Vaqas is a distinguished consultant neurosurgeon based in London. His areas of expertise include brain tumours, brain haemorrhage, brain metastases, glioblastoma, meningioma and hydrocephalus. He is also skilled in performing open skull surgery, as well as discectomy for spinal conditions.
With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Vaqas consults privately at The Wellington Hospital, London International Patient Services (LIPS) and The London Independent Hospital. In 2013, Mr Vaqas was awarded with the George Pickard clinical research fellowship in surgical neuro-oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. His work focused on the first UK application of the iKnife on the human brain and advancements in human spectrometry. Mr Vaqas obtained a PhD in Neuro-Oncology for this investigation from Imperial College London in 2018.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Vaqas is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College London. He also serves as the undergraduate neurology block lead at Anglia Ruskin University and continues to publish in high-impact medical journals. He holds the esteemed FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a member of several professional organisations.
