Dr Brijesh Anantharam is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in management of coronary artery disease and complex coronary intervention including CTO PCI. He is a high-volume coronary angioplasty/stent operator. He is currently practising at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, where he has been the clinical lead for Cardiology governance.
Dr Anantharam trained in Cardiology in Leicester and advanced coronary intervention in Bournemouth and The Ottawa heart institute, Canada.
He undertook research in Northwick Park Hospital under Professor R Senior looking into prognostic value of coronary flow reserve in heart failure patients using myocardial contrast echocardiography which led to publications of important manuscripts.
Dr Anantharam also practices general cardiology with interests in symptoms of breathlessness, palpitations and syncope.
He is actively involved in research particularly involving heart attacks and coronary physiology assessments.
