Dr Claudia Aymerich

Dr Claudia Aymerich is a renowned consultant psychiatrist and researcher with a strong clinical and academic background. She completed her medical degree and specialist psychiatry training in Spain, including work at Basurto University Hospital, and earned a PhD in Neurosciences focused on preventive approaches to psychotic disorders. She also holds postgraduate qualifications in addictive disorders and has developed expertise in assessing and managing neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD, as well as early phases of severe mental illness.

After moving to the United Kingdom, Dr Aymerich continued her clinical and research career at King's College London and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Her research interests include early intervention in psychosis, prevention strategies in psychiatry, and child and adolescent mental health. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and presented her findings at international conferences, contributing to systematic reviews and studies examining risk factors, biomarkers, and the broader impact of mental health challenges.

Her work has been recognised with competitive awards and grants, including honours from the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health and funding from the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation.
