Mr Daniel Gheorghiu is a revered consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight. Outside of the NHS, Mr Gheorghiu consults from private rooms at The Mottistone, the Island’s private healthcare provider.
He completed specialist orthopaedics and trauma training on the Merseyside rotation in Liverpool and gained further experience in paediatric orthopaedic surgery at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He undertook fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery at the renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit “Centre of Excellence” and at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Mr Gheorghiu has served as a tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is part of the faculty for several national and international training courses for healthcare professionals. He regularly takes part in multidisciplinary team meetings, journal clubs, and audit sessions.
His clinical practice covers all aspects of hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive shoulder surgery and shoulder joint replacement for arthritis. His work also includes the treatment of common upper limb conditions such as frozen shoulder, subacromial impingement, AC joint disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer’s elbow, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s disease, and arthritis of the hand and wrist.
Since 2017, Mr Gheorghiu has provided medico-legal reports in personal injury cases. Following completion of the Advanced Medico-Legal Course and Bond Solon courses in 2024, he now also offers services in medical negligence cases.

- I agree with the 5 star allocations above - my only disappointment was that the cost advertised for my treatment (trigger finger) was quoted as £200. In fact I was charged £310 - I didn't mention it at the clinic as I assumed this was the cost of the injection added to the consultation - perhaps the charges could be made clearer.
