Dr Daniel Keene is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist based in London, specialising in pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT), atrial fibrillation ablation and SVT ablations alongside the management of palpitations, collapse (syncope) and dizziness and all general cardiology.
He privately practises at Welbeck Heart Health, the Royal Free London Private Patients' Unit and the Sainsbury Wing at Hammersmith Hospital. His NHS bases include both the Royal Free London Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Keene’s expertise extends to all elements of device management; pacemaker, CRT and ICD implantation, device and lead extraction and being a leader in the field of conduction system pacing, which is a cutting-edge approach to providing physiological cardiac pacing. He also has significant experience investigating dizzy or collapse episodes to identify and treat underlying cardiac causes.
He graduated from the University of Manchester in 2009 with an MB ChB and has since pursued extensive specialist training in cardiology and electrophysiology including a PhD at the National Heart and Lung Institute. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Keene is actively involved in research and teaching and holds a position as a senior lecturer in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Imperial College London. He is dedicated to educating the next generation of cardiologists and advancing knowledge in his field. He is currently the chief investigator on a number of ongoing large clinical trials looking to inform future clinical practice.
Dr Keene is a member of several professional organisations, including the British Cardiovascular Society, the British Heart Rhythm Society, the European Society of Cardiology and the European Heart Rhythm Association. Through his clinical practice and teaching, he remains committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care to patients with heart rhythm disorders.
