Mr Danilo Miskovic is an exceptionally skilled consultant general and colorectal surgeon based in London. He is also one of the leading robotic colorectal surgeons in the UK and internationally.
Throughout his career, Mr Miskovic has developed leading expertise in the surgical management of colorectal cancer (bowel cancer), with a focus on advanced minimally-invasive surgery, such as laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, transanal surgery and robotic surgery. His expertise in his field has led him to become a consultant at the renowned St Mark's Hospital, a specialist bowel hospital in Harrow, West London.
From as early as 2013, Mr Miskovic has been at the forefront of implementing robotic surgery for colorectal procedures. He is incredibly skilled in the use of the novel da Vinci Si and Xi system and performs more than 150 major robotic cancer operations each year. In these major operations, he teaches and trains other professionals from all over the world in the use of this exciting and highly sophisticated technology. He is also a member of the faculty of the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS).
Mr Miskovic's surgical practice also involves other aspects of general and colorectal surgery, such as proctology. He offers a wide range of surgical procedures for the treatment of anal fistula, hernia, pilonidal disease, prolapse and haemorrhoids.
Dr Miskovic completed his surgical training in Zurich, Switzerland, before relocating to the UK in 2007. After training as a registrar in Surrey and completing his PhD in London, he underwent extensive subspecialist training in minimally-invasive surgery as a fellow at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. After training at some of the best colorectal units in the country, he was appointed as an Associate Professor and Consultant Surgeon at the University of Leeds and St James’ University Hospital in Leeds. He attends to the needs of patients in both the public and private health care sectors.
He also contributes to his field of work through surgical education and research. Dr Miskovic has a strong commitment to the development of surgical technology, education and quality in colorectal surgery.
