Dr David Annan

Dr David Annan is a highly skilled consultant radiologist based in London, practising privately at Nuffield Health The Holly Hospital, LIPS Healthcare, Oryon Imaging, Marris Medical, and the Harley Street Ultrasound Group. Specialising in head and neck imaging and musculoskeletal radiology, he has particular expertise in thyroid and salivary gland imaging, head and neck neuroimaging, and musculoskeletal joint injections. Dr Annan provides a comprehensive diagnostic and interventional service, combining advanced imaging techniques with a patient-centred approach to deliver accurate assessments and tailored treatments.

Holding both the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR), Dr Annan combines strong clinical knowledge with advanced imaging expertise. This dual qualification enables him to offer a genuinely holistic approach, interpreting scans with a deep understanding of the wider clinical picture and providing tailored management and treatment recommendations. Known for his personable and empathetic manner, he strives to ensure every patient feels comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their diagnostic journey.

As Site Lead for Head and Neck Radiology at Whipps Cross, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, Dr Annan performs a wide range of ultrasound, CT, and MRI scans, as well as fine needle aspirations, core biopsies, and image-guided procedures. His practice focuses on the evaluation and management of thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland, and soft tissue conditions, alongside joint and musculoskeletal disorders. He is a core member of the Head and Neck Oncology, Endocrinology, and Pituitary Gland multidisciplinary teams, contributing expert imaging reviews that support the diagnosis and management of complex cases across North East London.

Dr Annan graduated with Distinction from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine, before undertaking advanced radiology training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal London Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in both adult and paediatric imaging. Deeply committed to medical education, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Medical Education and regularly delivers training and exam preparation sessions for registrars and medical students throughout London. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, presents at national and international conferences, and is currently completing an NHS Apprenticeship in Artificial Intelligence for Business Value.
