Dr Deven Patel

Dr Deven Patel is a leading cardiologist based in the London area at the Wellington Hospital, Spire Bushey Hospital, and the Royal Free Hospital. He specialises in chest pain, angina, coronary angiography and intervention - stenting, and acute myocardial infaction. He has wide experience in managing arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and in heart failure.

Dr Patel qualified from the University of London, and trained in cardiology at The Royal Free, Royal Brompton, and Harefield Hospitals. He is a well-established consultant of over 20 years standing, working in the NHS at The Royal Free and Barnet Hospitals. He has been the lead cardiologist at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals for over eight years and was instrumental in developing a catheter laboratory service at Barnet Hospital. He has an extensive private practice and receives a high level of referrals based on personal recommendation and for second opinions.

Dr Patel has training and experience in all areas of cardiology, but his specialty has focused in the last 15 years on the assessment of chest pain and angina, coronary angiography, intervention and stenting. He has a particular interest in complex coronary intervention undertaking intravascular imaging and pressure wire studies, using rotablation prior to stenting. The majority of interventional procedures are undertaken via the arm using the radial artery. He has been involved in research into coronary artery disease, CT coronary angiography, and acute coronary syndromes.
