Dr Dunia Ismail is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist, offering her services in London, Brighton (East Sussex), and Crawley (Surrey). She specialises in diabetes (types 1 and 2), including cutting-edge HCL technology, endocrinology for paediatric patients, growth and puberty disorders, hypoglycaemia, and the thyroid.
Dr Ismail qualified from Medical School at the University of Palermo( Italy) in 2002, and completed her medical and core paediatric specialty training in Italy, before undertaking speciality training in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes abroad, including a clinical research fellowship at the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes of the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne (Australia). Dr Ismail then came to the UK to work at the Great Ormond Street Hospital and UCLH ( London) from 2008 to 2012 as a senior clinical fellow, developing a subspecialty interest in glucose physiology and hyperinsulinism.
In 2012, Dr Ismail was appointed as an NHS consultant paediatric endocrinologist and diabetologist at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, where she is also the clinical lead for the paediatric endocrine and diabetes service. Dr Ismail, in addition to her clinical practice, has been an avid researcher and has many published research articles under her name through the years.
