Miss Elizabeth (Liza) Ball is a distinguished consultant gynaecologist based in London. Her areas of expertise include chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and the menopause. She is also highly proficient in complex laparoscopy, fertility-sparing excisional techniques for endometriosis, and hysteroscopy. Her guiding philosophy is to provide the same standard of care she would wish for herself and her family—delivered with kindness, respectful listening, evidence-based practice, and surgical excellence.
Miss Ball consults privately at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic. With 30 years’ experience, she also practises at Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust and is an Honorary Reader at City St George’s, University of London.
Miss Ball originally qualified from Hannover Medical School. She has trained in Germany, England, and the USA. She holds an MD and a PhD and is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Notably, Miss Ball was awarded the prestigious AAGL fellowship at Columbia St Mary’s Hospital in Wisconsin, USA. There, Miss Ball honed her skills in advanced surgical techniques for deep endometriosis.
Miss Ball has also contributed to the field with textbook chapters on advanced laparoscopic techniques, as well as peer-reviewed papers. Her current research focusses on co-development of patient centred care and improving the medical and surgical treatment of endometriosis. On the editorial board of TJMIG Miss Ball remains at the forefront of gynaecological research and collaborates with Endometriosis UK as well to advocate for greater awareness and support for the condition.
