Mr Eniola Folaranmi

Mr Eniola Folaranmi is an accomplished consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon based in Cardiff, practising at Nuffield Health Cardiff Bay Hospital. He specialises in general surgery with a particular focus on minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, orchidopexy, and cholecystectomy. He is experienced in managing a range of conditions such as inguinal hernias, undescended testis, gallstones, and gastro-oesophageal reflux in children aged three years and above.

Mr Folaranmi combines his clinical practice with academic contributions as an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University. He has undertaken specialist paediatric surgical training in the Northwest of England and completed an 18-month fellowship in upper gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery. He is also the lead for Paediatric Major Trauma at the University Hospital of Wales and the Training Programme Director for Paediatric Surgery in South Wales, reflecting his dedication to advancing surgical standards and mentoring the next generation of paediatric surgeons.

An active researcher, Mr Folaranmi has contributed 23 peer-reviewed publications, two book chapters, and numerous presentations at international paediatric surgery conferences. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons. He has also starred in two episodes of the Saving Lives in Cardiff series, showcasing his expertise in paediatric surgical care.
